Main Ingredients

|
Magnesium: Magnesium
has a significant effect on immunity. According
to one study's findings published in the Journal
of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes and
Human Retrovirology, researchers found lower
circulating levels of magnesium and micronutrients
(vitamins A,C, E, vitamins B-6, B-12, folate,
thiamin, niacin, biotin, riboflavin, pantothenic
acid, copper zinc, selenium) levels in the blood
of 64 patients diagnosed with Human Immunodeficiency
Virus (HIV). The study's authors state that
"low magnesium concentrations may be particularly
relevant to HIV-related symptoms of fatigue,
lethargy and impaired mentation."1
|
| |
|

|
Selenium: This important
micro nutrient stimulates the immune system.
According to Prevention's Guide to Vitamins
and Minerals, Gerhard Schrauzer, Ph.D., a pioneer
in selenium researcher, "Selenium stimulates
the immune system. It also alters the metabolism
of carcinogenic substances, thus preventing
an accumulation of free radicals."2
|
| |
|

|
Zinc: This mineral plays
an important role in immune function. The thymus,
a gland located in the chest, distributes and
nourishes T-lymphocytes, or white blood cells,
that are the body's first defense against invading
bacteria, virus or cancer cells.1 The thymus
is full of zinc, which is necessary for cell
division and protein synthesis. The thymus also
secretes FTS, a zinc-dependent hormone important
for immunity. Researchers have found that even
marginal deficiencies of zinc impair FTS activity.2
|
| |
|

|
More than 72 naturally-occurring,
ionically charged minerals and trace minerals
from Utah's Great Salt Lake for nutritional support
and balance. |
| |
|

|
Vitamin C: This vitamin
also bolsters the immune system via its actions
with lymphocytes. Lymphocytes contain concentrations
of vitamin C, according to Prevention. Researchers
theorise that vitamin C can increase the lymphocytes
metabolism, making them react faster and easier
to latch onto bacterial or viral invaders.1
|
| |
|

|
Astragalus: Rich in polysaccharides,
this herb is considered to be an excellent stimulant
for the immune system as it supports T-cell function.
Asian practitioners have relied on astragalus
for years to treat poor immune function, viral
infections and high blood pressure. |
| |
|

|
Olive Leaf: Olive leaf has
been used to stimulate the immune system and to
treat hypertonia, arteriosclerosis, rheumatism,
gout, diabetes, according to the book Complete
German Commission E Monographs: Therapeutic Guide
to Herbal Medicines. |
| |
|

|
Garlic: Garlic contains more
than 200 chemical compounds Its sulphur-containing
compounds, including allicin and ajoene, which
bestow its antibiotic properties as well as its
strong smell. The allicin is antimicrobial, lipid-reducing
and anti-oxidative. |
| |
|

|
Shitake: A mushroom with
a distinctive flavour and texture, Shitake mushrooms
contain lentinan, a polysaccharide, that strengthens
the immune system by increasing the proliferation
of T cells, which can maintain the function of
a healthy immune system. |
| |
|

|
Echinacea: Echinacea has
anti-inflammatory, immune-stimulating, bacterialcidal
and wound healing actions, depending on the plant
species type. It stimulates white blood cells
and is also beneficial for the lymphatic system,
colic, colds, cough, flu and other infectious
illnesses. |
| |
|

|
Oregon Grape Root: This herb
contains berberine and hydrastine, which are used
to treat infections. Oregon Grape Root is utilised
by many herbalists for its role in fighting bacteria
such as staph infections, vaginal yeast infections
and urinary tract infections. |
