nutrient needs necessary at times for premenstrual
support. Premenstrual Tension affects up to 1/3 of

Herbs
Chaste Tree Berry(Agnus Catus): Chaste Tree
Berry is used for its natural oestrogen like properties.
Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis): Dong Quai is
acclaimed to be very effective against most upsets
to of the female hormonal system. It nourishes the
glands, strengthens internal organs and muscles, and
rebuilds the blood - combats anaemia. It has a mild
tranquiliser effect.
Siberian Ginseng (Eleutherococcus): Ginseng
is a widely recommended female hormone as well as
male for regulation and for the stimulation of mental
and physical vigor - many consider it an aphrodisiac.
In China it is used to prevent aging and it maybe
effective in this regard since it does supply or stimulate
many of the hormones necessary for well-being. Siberian
Ginseng is reported to help the body to overcome mental
fatigue, physical fatigue, and stress. It Contains:

Black Cohosh (Cimicifuga racemosa): The American
Indian women used Black Cohosh for its ability to

During childbirth, Black Cohosh aids uterine contractions
and reduces pain. It also contains natural oestrogen,
the female hormone; as a mild sedative, Black Cohosh
has the ability to neutralise poisons and uric acid
in the blood stream and remove them from the body.
It contains moderate amounts of calcium, magnesium,
potassium, and iron. It contains small amounts of
vitamin A, inositol, pantothenic acid, silicon, and
phosphorus.
Blue Cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides): Historically,
this herb has been used for regulating menstrual flow;
for keeping the uterus healthy and as a cleanser for
the urinary tract.
Licorice Root (Glycyrrhiza glabra): Licorice
is a natural source of the female hormone oestrogen.
It contains glycosides which can chemically purge
excess fluid from the lungs, throat, and body, so
it is well known to assist the body to deal with coughs
and chest complaints, as well as for increasing endurance.
Licorice contains: vitamins E and B complex, biotin
and niacin, phosphorus; pantothenic acid, lecithin,
manganese, iodine, chromium, and zinc.
Raspberry Leaf (Rubus idaeus): Raspberry Leaf
is one of the most well known and proven herbs used
by women, especially during pregnancy. Eases morning
sickness and pain during and after birth. It strengthens
the uterine wall which helps contractions and helps
to prevent hemorrhaging and swelling. Raspberry Leaf
contains vitamins A, B complex C, D and E; along with
high amounts of iron and calcium, and lesser amounts
of phosphorus and manganese.
Yarrow (Achillea millefolium): Yarrow is used
to help with loss of appetite, dyspeptic ailments,
such as mild, spastic discomforts of the gastrointestinal
tract. Yarrow also works well to aid in painful, cramp-like
conditions of psychosomatic origin in the lower part
of the female pelvis.
Chamomile (Matricaria recutita): Chamomile
acts as a mild sedative it is known to help calm nerves
and relieve muscle pain. Chamomile increases elimination
through the skin by improving the blood flow to the
surface of the skin - inducing perspiration. As circulation
is increased, headaches are often eased and mental
alertness is increased. Chamomile is high in calcium,
magnesium, potassium, iron, manganese, zinc, and also
has some vitamin A content.
Wood Betony (Betonica officinalis): The sedative
effects of Wood Betony offer benefits in treating
heartburn, indigestion, and stomach cramps-which can
be caused by stress. It is also soothing for headaches,
including pain in the face and neck due to muscle
tension. Wood Betony is an effective blood cleanser,
helping with heart problems, jaundice, gout, colic
and colic. Wood Betony contains magnesium, manganese,

Yellow Dock (Yucca elata): Yellow Dock is one

Tips for Lessening Premenstrual
Tension
Limit red meat consumption and refined carbohydrates
