Raspberry
Leaf
This plant is well-known and well-regarded for its positive
role in treating many female disorders. Raspberry helps
ease female discomforts while also strengthening uterine
muscle. According to Barney, "Raspberry leaf tempers
the effects of hormonal runaway, such as might occur
during menstruation, pregnancy and delivery. It is also
thought to build the tissue of the cervix to prevent
tearing during delivery."4 It decreases menstrual bleeding,
relaxes uterine and intestinal spasms and reduces hot
flushes.1 In addition, it is used for disorders of the
gastrointestinal tract, the respiratory tract, the cardiovascular
system and the mouth and throat. Because it is a rich
source of calcium, it is also used to strengthen bones,

Rose Hips
Rose hips are the remainder of the flower once it has
bloomed and the petals have fallen off.2 Although, consumed
fresh by the Greeks, it was during World War II that
scientists discovered that rose hips contained anywhere
from ten to one-hundred times the vitamin C content
of any other food and, thus, it was utilised to prevent
scurvy.1,4 In addition to vitamin C it also contains
